"I totally agree. Anytime we help another country with weapons and equipment, they turnaround and use it against us. Now look at all the new weapons we are giving to Iraq, you know that those will be used against us if they aren't being used against…"
"Yah, they have the USS Monticello there also and I understand that they just removed the flight deck because it had alot of wood in it and they are getting her ready to sink her in the ocean somewhere."
"Hi again Tim,
I have a bunch of friends that were Navy seals that I use to train with that are all out now. They are all having a big get together in Lauglin,Nevada this week and I will see them next week. I told a few of them about this site and…"
"Aloha Tim,
Yes,that would be fun. The tours are free if we drive over there ourselves. If we go on a Wed.,Sat. or Sunday, we can hit the swap meet at Aloha Stadium right across the street, lol. Maybe check out Mighty Mo and the Bowfin while there too!"
"I head over to Hawaii for two weeks every year. I just can't get enough of that place and have several friends that live there. How about you, have you ever been there yet?"
"I want to chime in on what Tim was saying about "Trees and Ducks" getting along. Those jabs never bothered us. Marines always were respectful for the most part while on the ships and the same with Navy personel on Marine bases. While on shore…"
"Hi Gerry,
This site isn't strictly Navy as you stated. It also includes all members that fall under the Dept. of the Navy. That includes the Marines and in some cases, the Coast Guard. I know what you meant and there's no hard feelings. I hope I'm…"
"Hey Albert,
I feel that it's up to us to teach our children the importance of the flag and military service and all the sacifices that were made and are being made today. I took my children to the USS Arizona last year and thought that I would show…"
"Aloha Tim,
I hope you don't mind a few trees in here too. We still fall under the Department of the Navy. Some of the best times that I spent in the Marines was on Navy ships and ports. I had to train with Seal teams aboard ships and learned things…"
"Ref Battleship Iowa, just found out arrival date:

"I'm south of you in Yuma and it's been cooler this winter than usual, but still nice. We've had a lot of wind, which makes my bad golf game worse. But all in all, it's been pretty mild all over this winter."
"I was hoping that my health would improve greatly after moving to Hawaii and it has to some degree but I keep having setbacks here and there. I had another surgery at Tripler not too long ago and I am doing better in that area but still not in…"
Hi Todd Your right about California that why I live Nevada no income tax;however lot of people moved here from California th'r wanting to rase taxs toll roads hell this is cowboy living we have. a decal that says " We don't care they do it California" My brother still lives there . I could have stayed in Hawaii for 4 years that took well be on my retirement date now I wish I had. The only thing that bothered me was when they burned off the sugarcane fields I've been around a lot of smoke; but this was worse.
Todd 1958 before Hawaii was a state most of Ford Island was off limits to taking pictures. I was stationed at the Subase in 75 my youngest one was born there . I would like to live there ,but cost lving just to high.
Todd I was looking at photos of the USS Arizona in 1958 on USS Midway we tided up at Ford Island you could the Battleship sunk along Battle role that was sad to see that. They wouldn't let use take any pictures of than. Where we are at here in Nevada Yellowstone,Lassen,Mt Shasta;Mammoth any one blows not goood .
Oh yea, My Native American Brother when you get a chance go to my page and check out Brother Ronald Roybal's videos and his music, my friend has a gift from the Great Spirit. I am hoping to get one of his CD's soon, may be he can give you a little peace of mind with his music. Take care my friend.
Hey Brother Todd, How goes it my friend, hope all is better with you? Did you get your ultra sound on your kidneys, still have you & the family on the prayer list. Let us know something,we are still thinking about you.
Todd - sorry I've not replied to you, for some reason I'm not getting emails from the system. Not sure on the number of Marines here but (as a gator), I'd love to see more!
Mahalo Tim,
My profile picture shows in the background all of the Marines that sacificed their lives also on the USS Arizona and are still on USS Arizona.
I couldn't help but notice that I'm the only Marine to join this site so far and I hope that I'm not the last. I believe that the Marines have played an important part in Naval history and should never be excluded. The same goes for the Navy, without you guys, the Marines would never have made history without sailors manning the bridge!
Hi Todd, I just wanted to say, Thank you for sharing the photo's of Pearl Harbor. It is one of many places (all World War 2 sights) that I would like to see. Great Pictures!
The picture you see is aboard the USS Arizona last year on Memorial Day. If you didn't know this, this tourist attraction is operated by active duty sailors in uniform and I recommand everyone to visit this site at least once in your lifetime. It's a very moving experience and this was my second time on the Arizona but the end result was the same both times. I and everyone else there was moved to tears after looking at the oil that comes to the surface and the sacifices made by our Navy. I will post more pictures after I get my composure back. Semper Fi.
