I deeply owe two of my Co 110 shipmates for throwing me over the large barricade wall on the physical test of boot camp .fortunately out of sight of the chiefs in charge of the exercise Charlie Burns asked me privately having witnessed my passing the two largest best physically fit in the Co at the leap of over 2' above the wall how I did it.. Adrenalin pure Adrenalin Really care to do it again so I can watch looked like you were thrown over that wall. Nope never mess with perfection : )
In my first day of active duty as an E 3 with 120 days of reserve time I was put in change of the recruits on the bus to Orlando. At the base EM1 Charlie Burns called me into the office and said you are in charge forge my signature C Burns excellent you are the Co clerk and E 6 when I am not here. You assign all duty maintain a list of all the crew 24 7 control the smoking light and assign all watches. and you have a clipboard not a rifle. Oh and one more thing you are legally responsible for the entire crew and their safety and conduct when I am not here. .
