Stationed on the Kitty Hawk 93-94,S-5 and S-2 Division.MSCM (AW) E. Francisco was the best master chief ever! Great ship, great crew. Bad crash on deck on 94 cruise,F-14 hit the round deck on approach.Shown on tv still to this day.
Joined the Hawk in July 1973 at Hunter's Point when it was retrofitted for F14's. First and last ship, made friends that have lasted a lifetime - looking back those really were the good old days!
Flew aboard the Hawk ( CVA-63) l/10/68 out of Subic. Spent 3 & 1/2 yrs. in P-2 division in 2MMR as a BT. Made 3 cruises and got out on arrival 6/71. A great ship to grow up and mature on. Sorry I missed the last cruise before she was put up. Never could figure out why the CV designation because she was one heck of a fighter.
